It was business as usual for tennis star Mahesh Bhupathi who went back to practice just a day after getting married to long- time girlfriend- actress Lara Dutta in Goa. Playing at the Taj with long time doubles partner Leander Paes, Mahesh seemed in no particular hurry to go back to his new wife.
Without any apparent distractions of a honeymoon- in- waiting, his practice session was hardcore and totally focused. But to the dismay of photographers, Lara’s wedding vow of “ I promise to return your serves and volley alongside you…” did not translate into her being on the court.
The photographers’ frustration at the three- day wedding affair of the celebrity couple in Goa had just about reached a high point till Mahesh obliged them on the court.
He posed happily alongside fans and Paes and did not seem as grumpy and guarded as he was during the wedding functions. The paparazzi angst, however, is that while the couple did not let themselves get photographed at and around the wedding functions, Mahesh just about sorely compensated them with a picture on the tennis court.
The buzz doing the rounds is that photographers were kept at bay probably to later sell exclusive pictures to a celebrity magazine. The celebrity couple, however, maintains that the wedding function was closely guarded as they wanted to keep the affair frill- free, exclusive and personal.
This argument, though totally believable, seemed a little out of sync as Twitter addict Lara tweeted regular updates of the wedding saga.
