Television star Kushal Punjabi emerges as Zor Ka Jhatka winner

Television actor Kushal Punjabi beat formidable competitors including several top sportspersons and a former armyman to win the Shah Rukh Khan- hosted water- based adventure reality show Zor Ka Jhatka on Friday.

Kushal, who is best known for his roles in shows such as Kasamh Se , Rishta. com and Gutar Gu , took home the prize of ` 50 lakh on winning Friday’s grand finale, where he beat three other finalists, boxer Jay Bhagwan, retired army Captain Albert and German model Claudia Ciesla.

The much- hyped water sports show, which is based on the international hit Wipeout , had also featured other sportspersons such as wrestler Sonika Kaliraman, mountaineer Krushna Punia, athlete Alka Tomar and squash player Ravi Dixit, besides Captain Dharam.

The entire show was shot in Argentina.

“ When you reach the final, the idea of winning captures the mind so badly that it augments your physical stamina,” Kushal said, whom not many had fancied as a winner when the show started.

TV shows apart, Kushal has also been seen in prop roles in a few films such as Kaal , Lakshya and Salaam- e- Ishq . Not long ago, he launched his production company Zcyphher Studio, which produces documentary films.
