Bharti Airtel unveils 3G services in Delhi



After launching its third generation (3G) services in seven cities across the country, India’s leading telecom operator Bharti Airtel on Thursday launched its 3G service in Delhi circle that would offer video- calling, mobile TV, video streaming and access to applications at super fast speeds on mobile phones and personal computing devices.

The operator has already launched its 3G services in seven other cities namely Jaipur, Chennai, Bangalore, Mysore, Coimbatore, Udipi and Manipal.

Airtel’s 3G launch in the Delhi circle that also includes bordering cities like Noida, Greater Noida, Ghaziabad, Gurgaon and Faridabad has over 1,800 3G sites in these places.

“ We have launched the 3G services in Delhi and NCR powered by 1,800- plus 3G sites, including Flickr, Twitter, Facebook and other social network accounts,” Bharti Airtel president (mobile services) Atul Bindal said.

Bindal also informed that it would launch 3G services in five other circles (in all 13 circles where the operator has won the 3G license) by March 2011.
