CBSE Board Class 12th exam kicks off with lengthy physics paper
The CBSE Class XII board examinations started on Tuesday on a satisfactory note for students.
The first paper was physics and the students found it a mixed bag, with a majority saying the questions were relatively easy. Their only grouse was that with a lesser emphasis on numerical in the new format, the paper was quite lengthy.
Many students complained that they could not attempt all the questions because of lack of time, but they agreed that the questions were not very difficult. “ Since the new format restricts the numerical component to 20 per cent of the total, the number of subjective questions increased automatically, attempting all of which in the allotted time proved difficult.
But overall, the level of the question paper set was aimed to cater to all — average, below average, and above average — students,” Pummy Kulshrestha, the physics teacher at Bloom Public School, said.
Kulshrestha , however, added that such a subjective question paper wasn’t conducive for students preparing for competitive examinations, in which the composition of numericals is higher. Students, too, accepted that the question paper catered to even below- average students.
“ In spite of being lengthy, it was a paper in which anyone could score. I personally feel that the number of numericals should have been higher, but it was a fair examination for everyone,” Garima Basumapary, 17, a student of Bloom Public school said.
Nearly 1.8 million students are expected to appear for the CBSE Class X and XII board examinations across the country.
A total of 769,929 (7.69 lakh) students will appear for the Class XII exams, of which 454,131 (4.54 lakh) are boys and 315,798 (3.15 lakh) are girls. A total of 1,061,566 (10.61 lakh) Class X students will appear for the continuous comprehensive evaluation under the CBSE.

Very Difficult questions. Time should have been more to attempt all questions. It was not a standard question where everybody could pass.
GRACE MARKS SHOULD BE GIVEN TO ALL STUDENTS FOR ABOUT 20-25 MARKS . Otherwise
PROTEST SHOULD BE THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
yes the paper was easy enough but 2 questions just created the dirty problems...Q13 and one more.....now what is the view of the students....displacement current is a topic of our NCERT but not with too much emphasis....how is going to go?
What rubbish! How can anyone say that the level of the paper catered to all types of students- above average students might have found it relatively easy but we are not fooling anyone by saying this paper was found easy by average and below average students. The committee that might have set the paper must have comprised of intelluctually smart individuals but it is wrong to assume that the children writing these exams can match their intellect! Has this commitee ( if there is one) ever considered children coming from schools situated in the not so developed states - I am referring to the All India CBSE physics paper that has upset so many children with its 'smart" questions ?!
SUBSTANDARD EASY QUESTION WHICH IS VERY DIFFICULT TO COMPLETE IN THREE HOURS. MOST OF THE STUDENT COULD NOT COMPLETE THE PAPER THOUGH IT WAS EASY.MOST OF THE QUESTIONS ARE IN COMPREHENSIVE TO CHEAT STUDENTS. THIS IS NOT AT ALL A QUESTION TO JUDGE TALENT OF STUDENTS. THE PAPER SHOULD BE SCRAPED AND EXAMINATION SHOULD BE REPEATED.
it was a quite long paper and it is not rite to say that it catered all kinds of students students below average found the paper relatively tough the paper required application of lots of concepts and skills the paper was an unexpected one..........................
it was a very lengthy paper, more of numericals should have been there,,,,,
the paper was not too tough but the rubbish length of paper spoils it all. The questions of 5 marks were taking more that 20 mins each.the questions i left i thought could be attended but due to time shortage the result is opposite what i thought
it was too lengthy.
one had to think before attending any questin and there was no time for it.i had spent a lot of time preparing for physics but i think it was of no use. it was not at all a paper to judge the in depth knowledge.most of my friends were in tears after the exam.i couldnt attempt 3 3mark,2 2mark question. i am not at all satisfied with other answers
very easy question paper
students who nevr study are making lame excuses
the paper was difficult for the average and below average students. In kerala this year onwards 50% of class 12 mark is also going to be added with the entrance score to decide the entrance rank .Then what will be the future of them if cbse prepare this type of questions?
the paper was neither 2 difficult nor 2 easy...the questions required lots of thinking for which 3 hours were not sufficient...it was 2 lengthy...imagine a.c. generator, full wave rectifier and all those kinds of descriptive questions in a single paper...the cbse people should give grace marks for sure...i had expected the first paper to be simple and short so dat we cud have gained confidence...but cbse disappointed us...hope d chemistry exam duz nt go d same way...otherwise v r doomed...!!!
the paper was tooooooooooo lenghty cbse should focus on dis
unexpected questions make it difficult.........
was a tough paper for those who got SET 1 comparing to others......
question was eazy bt lenghthy...
we hv 2 manage our tym 4 solving all the question....
arif
Question was eazy bt Lenghthy....
We hv 2 manage the TYME 4 solving ALL d question....
It was easy paper to score more marks but time was too short to answer all the questions. Some of the questions were from out of the syllabus ....................mks
Time was not given to read the question paper i.e. 15 minutes, which resulted in shortage of time.Otherwise paper was good with less numerical based Qs............Eshan
similar to all i think this was not lengthy paper instead of some selected ques like displacement current, ques no 23.. but the time was not sufficient for this type of question......marks should be given for attempt also
the paper was neither tough nor easy. it was average...... but inspite of that what is profit of having an average paper if u cant even complete it in time. i mean for gods sake i had to write almost 10 pages on that godamn youngs double slit experiment.
physics paper 2011 difficulty level was on par with maths and chemistry, thus there is less hate for physics
it was a very lengthy paper alright. the lack of numericals crealy stood out as time was not sufficent for many to complete the written answers.
i hope the next chemistry exam will be more satisfactory and hope cbse will award some grace marks and show lenancy.
paper was not tough but yeaa althogh its nt so easy because i got tensed after seeing it .
as my target ws 2 do communication nd em waves queestions first :(
but dey make me depressed :(
how cn dey ask diagrams in dat
nd graphs it ws out of head
seriusly saying if u wnt 2 judge, judge students by entrance exam nd leave dis 4 d 1 whu is average or above average :(
Whst a easy paper. I think all cbse kv students will score in and around 65-70 marks because nearly all similar questions were sked for half yearly pre board exams. Hats off to CBSE Board.
Ramdas
dammit CBSE torturing students ! on one side making it lengthy and on the other side making it damm difficult ! how de hell wud one expect to score well in it !
it was damn dificult....
lengthy easy!!
The question in 1 mark that asked which capacitor plate is positively charged..? The one that deals with Electromagnetic induction..
It can have two possible answers since one can look at the loop in two ways..The capacitor can be assumed to be on the side closer to us or away from us and hence two possible answers..
Its a question from text book..but still the fact that a confusion exists cant be ignored...
Marks should be reduced only to students who have written BOTH the plates are positively charged or negatively charged... :P
YES THE PPR WAS EASY BUT TOOO LENTHY .THE PPR WAS ONLY FOR THOSE WHO CRAMED EVERY THING ND VOMITED IT ON THE PPR ,IT WAS NOT 4 THOSE WHO FIRST UNDERSTANDS THE QUESTION ND THEN ANSWER ,BEC THERE WAS NOT A SEC TO THINK .I MUST SAY THAT THE LEVEL OF CBSE IS FALLING YEAR BY YEAR.THE PPR WAS NOT TO CHEK KNOWLEDGE,THINKING ABILITY BUT IT WAS TO CHEK HOW MUNCH WE CAN CRAM AND HOW FAST WE CAN CRAM ND HOW FAST WE CAN WRIGHT .
CBSE HAVE 2 VIGE 15-20 GRACE MARKS OTHERWISE DEFINITELY THERE WIL B PROTEST ..
RAHUL JHA
very very difficult.............hope the next one will be ok.very lengthy.not rite to say it catered to all students!!!
very difficult questions....n lack of time!!!!!
the paper was a disaster.....
n pls fr god's sake dnt call tat an exam coz...it was a " 3 Hrs OF MENTAL TORTURE"!!!!
yaar plz easy checking karna aur unpadh teachers se hee check karana jaise humare school ka phy teacher hai ganja saala kuch bhi nahi aata saale ko behenchod bhosediwala maa ka lodha bolta hai aur wale bhi attend karo achaa hai
behenchoddddddddddddd
paper shoudnt have had so many derivations...learning derivations is boring and a waste of time...i wish more problems were there..as for the time..well i had 1 whole hour to sit like a dummy and stare at blank space...n not to mention..the environment was so alien it made me forget the derivations..
Scoring will become a problem. What is the meaning of mark distribution
the paper was bit lengthy, it was not 4 below average students, an average student don't get over 40 in 70
enjoy board this year math paper is going to be v.v tuff
this shows that centra board has just giving emphasis on the marks of the students.....thats why physics 2011 paper was too theoritical type.....it laid less emphasis on the numerical problems....this is very .....dangerous tothose students which ar comparitively doing the preparations of iit and aieee.....lets see how much difficulty will be shown in chem.... and mathematics........
the paper was very difficult+lengthy+fucking+
syllabus not completed in r skul yet+out of book.....:(
that cant b a ncert paper....
it's first sight made me so nervous ki jo atta tha vo bhi bhool gaye....
DUDE PLZ GIVE GRACE MARKS..PL..PL..PLZ.
the paper was lengthy.it was easy to score 60 marks by proper time allotment .
it was too tough,i hope grace marks should given by them.i pray to god for my chemistry exam.
Oh my god, please give me some mark above 50/70! the paper was damn fucking long and lengthy. It was more of conceptual questions which requires more time to think and fuck out those answers in answer sheets , if another 30 mins were provided i would have definitely got 60+/70.First of all cbse must decrease the portions for physics. Why students require dual nature particle and wave theory when its study was stopped long ago.And why the fuck they give optics when we have written in 10th science board itself. Its time to change the syllabus for physics for 12th or else whole India will protest to close down cbse. Hope Chemistry will be easy....?!
hope cbse does the correction liberally
i think we should forward all this to the concerned authority so that we can have grace marks anyone knows how we can reach to the head of cbse???
ya it was quite lengthy, but what are you all talking it was'nt at all difficult. all questions were just theory based. in all it was basicaly very boring paper.
The questions were too lengthy...couldn't get time to complete....too many indirect questions from 2mark and 3mark section....I hope that the correction will liberal..
Honestly .. this was the toughest n the lengthiest
question paper ive ever seen ... i busted my ass to study for it .. n after all this hard work i saw the most toughest paper ... it just made me sad ... CBSE sure knows how to discourage its students !1
physics paper was niether easy nor difficult . so ppl who are saying it was quite easy & they hope chem & maths paper should give them a challenge pls for gods sake dnt piss cbse members varna itna difficlt paper na daal de maths aur chem ka ki tatti shot ho jae
the paper was lengthy.it was easy to score 60 marks by proper time allotment .
paper was fine but quite lengthy...
overall good problems...
hope 4 good marks...
yaa .. they should give grace marks for us. it was lengthy too. damn physics =(
it was lenghty. no time to think and they expect us to answer all the questions huh .?!! wad d hell yar. dis cbse is torturing us so much . they have to give grace marks.
if the paper wasnt lengthy i wouldn't have called the cbse guys idiots, now i proclaim that...
i dont know what their intentions are...
to improve writing speed and handwriting or to improve thinking levels...
lame ...
it waz an unxpected type paper...just widout any numericalz which would have made d paper more interesting...it waz too lengthy...cbse should set d paper on a average according 2 d levels of all students....n next tym more numerical questionz should b dere..such a simple theoretical paper is of no significance...it doesnt recognize d actual potential n best out of d best...hope d upcuming xamz will b far better..
it was ez bt was lengthy,,,,,,n i revised d theory so many tyms bt thr wer unexpctd questions...lolzzz....hope chem ppr wont be tat tough...
yess.... ! i agree with all of my friends whoever gave the exam ! it wasnt so tuff set ! but needed much of numericals ! we didn't expect of such of lenghty theory questns ! we shud hv sum graces over the markin system !as last year question system ws bit easy! so this year might have planed for a tricky sets of questions
god! Lengthy paper god knows how lengthy?grace grace grace !!
the paper was very lengthy nd definitely tougher than last yrs papers.grace marks shud b given. specially the 2n3 markers wer tougher than usual. more numericals shud have been there
Even i felt tat da ppr cud b answerd in 4 hrs or so.....i nvr found tym to cum bk n think of dose questionz i left.....tz dissapointing.......
i totally feel dat the paper was damm easyy cuzz the paper has least count off numericals.... gud way to scoree here n the samee offsidee wass due to alot of reasonin especially in the 2 n 3 marks quests..but i truleyy luv the 5 marks quest cuz they wher reely osmm
ill get 80 out of 80
can anyone send the paper? I wanna have a luk at it cuz my exam's on the 8th (i'm in ISC)
The chem papr was so bad. Set 3 was very difficult. Grace shud b gvn
chem paper was vrrrrrrrrrrrrrry easy................... but the max tym shud have been 2 hrz n nt 3...
chemistry exam was easy. all the 3 sets were similar with only few questions diferent. & yes it was quite small exam & i was quite bored for almost half an hour
set two question 13 biology paper was not correct demand grace marks
Qs on microscope was wrong ...image distance was nt given ....hope we will get marks
image distance find krna tha pehle... vhi to tuist tha us ques mei
cbse papers r nt meant for discouraging students by setting a paper which cannot give tym to the students to think. bt this tym, many students r goin to fail bcoz d paper dint really test their knowledge properly....there was no tym to think!!! it was sum wht unfair.... n physics is all about practising your concepts which requires a brain to think!!!....... hope cbse gives grace marks to atleast those who are failing........
plzzz give marks phy and chem was soo tough dat i was not able 2 write some questions in phy becoz of time factor and for my set i founf chem also tough so plz give some moderation marks
the paper was so lengthy!!!it is really unfair to say that it catered all students..and set 1 was more difficult..i pray that i get 55/70 or more..god,please help me!!!
very gud xam.i hope they will not put such questions in compartment.
mahn ...wtf .. waitin 4 results :o
i personally fell that this paper was ec if more time had been alloted ............ it was a standard paper without any iit level questions ......but still ncert is a very toufg syllabus and the paper was still tough to majority of students ........ i wouldn't be surprised if a student having 80 marks gets an a+
why is cbse giving so tough questions. Its our future ...Its difficult for the average students. The brilliant ones might say easy..........
it was an easy question paper ofcourse.. but if i would have been a printer or a writing machine i would have surely completed the paper in three hours.... but unfortunately im a human....it was such a hectic moment.. the exam duration.. the connection between my brain and had was cut off.... i was literally asking my self,"WHY ARE U NOT ATTEMPTING THESE QUESTIONS WHICH U HAVE MADE THOROUGH A THOUSAND TIMES???".......im dissapointed..not blaming cbse but i wanted to write my physics paper much much better than what have written.....please dont do such a thing..with our juniors atleast...i never hated physics as much as i did after my physics exam.......
it was not easy..for gods sake!!!
you can never say studnts dont study!!!
