20 percent votes cast in Senate polls are invalid



Curiosity has touched its highest peak and a breeze of estimations is making rounds as people are awaiting the results of the Mumbai University Graduate's Constituency Senate elections. Anticipations are being made that because of inadequate information regarding the voting procedure approximately ten percent of the total voters have done invalid voting which might act as a turning point in the election results.

According to reliable sources in the university results are expected to be out by today evening. The complete election procedure is taking place systematically and under strict discipline. Sealed boxes are being arranged in hierarchy and separate tables are being assigned for each category making the sorting procedure sophisticated.

University sources informed that ballot boxes of all the centres have been collected at Mumbai University's Fort campus. " The ballot boxes of all the centres have been collected at the university campus. Approximately 100 to 150 people including seniors have been deployed for the counting procedure. Further the sealed boxes will be opened and the content will be bifurcated into different categories.

Also further sorting of valid and invalid votes will be conducted after which the actual procedure of vote counting will take place." Special arrangements have been made inside the university for the accommodations of people associated with the elections. " The counting procedure will take place overnight. Also, people are staying far away so it is a bit difficult for them to travel continuously.

To avoid this issue university has made prior arrangement of accommodation and food for the members associated with the elections." Security has been beefed up at the university campus citing controversial situations explained a security personnel on the condition of anonymity, " People have been deployed since early morning and strict warnings are being followed for entering the university.

Individuals who are associated with the elections have been provided with Icards and are only persons being allowed an entry into the university." Explaining the security status he said, " We have divided ourselves into two groups. One group for the morning shift while the other for the night shift. We are thinking twice even before blinking our eyes considering the tensed environment.”
