BMC to demand CID probe into Dadar flower mart fire

Suspecting sabotage in the cause of fire at Dadar flower market also called also known as Meenatai Thackeray market, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) will request to the state government to undertake CID inquiry.

Sunil Prabhu, house leader in Standing Committee meeting on Wednesday demanded a foolproof inquiry into the cause of the fire in which about 400 flower stalls were gutted to blaze." We will put forth the demand to the state government at earliest," said M M Adtani, Additional Municipal Commissioner.

Mayor Shraddha Jadhav too had expressed doubts over the fire at flower market on Saturday last week as the market, was to undergo major repair work. The civic administration had made a budgetary provision of Rs 2.29 crore as the work was to begin this week after a small function headed by Mayor would take place.

Meanwhile, on Tuesday, Jadhav visited a crashed, which could be given as an alternative place to all the flower vendors who lost their business in the fire incident.
